Welcome to the Irvine Seniors Forum Online.
Irvine Seniors Forum is a voluntary group that sets out to inform, campaign and empower senior citizens of 55 years and over living in the Irvine area. Feel free to join us, meeting information below.
Our members have campaigned on a range of issues from pensions concessionary bus travel, keeping public toilets open, ending age discrimination, free personal care, save the Magnum campaign, keeping jail close open, broken and uneven pavements in the town centre, amongst others.
The group discuss the issues that affect senior citizens (50+) and advocate on their behalf. With a decreasing younger population and an increasingly older population, they need a voice. It is a friendly group and all are welcome. The Group are members of the joint North Ayrshire Elderly Forum, Scottish Seniors Alliance and the Scottish Pensioners Forum. They recently hosted the Scottish Older Peoples’ Assembly meeting in the Volunteer Rooms where 140 seniors gave their views on issues that affect them.
